Exploring the role of local government in community food education

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield, supported by grant funding from Wellbeing SA and the Department for Human Services (DHS), is working to explore the role that local government plays in the delivery of food education programs at the local level following the findings of the CSI Community Food research and briefing paper. These food education programs may also include local food systems efforts, food relief, food hubs, community gardens or meals programs.

We are inviting councils across South Australia, metropolitan, regional and remote to provide input, irrespective of whether your council is currently involved in Community Food Education initiatives or not. Your responses will help us to:

  • Produce a discussion paper on the role of local government in community food education
  • Determine whether a model for the delivery of food education, at the local level, is feasible and can be replicated across diverse locations
  • Identify key indicators of success for community food education, relevant to the needs of local government

The survey contains eight questions and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
