See the final design

We asked for your thoughts about a replacement playground at Duffield Reserve in April 2025.

We have collated all 53 survey responses to bring a final design incorporating your feedback that will assist children to develop balance, agility and co-ordination skills.

You can view these final concept images and details further below this page.

Construction will begin in January 2026 and aim to finish within 8 weeks.

Background

The existing playground at Duffield Reserve has reached the end of its usual asset lifespan and is ready for replacement. The current play equipment has a focus on children aged 2 to 8 years old, and we plan to maintain this focus for the replacement playground.

A budget has been allocated in the draft 2025–26 Annual Business Plan to upgrade the playground and rubber softfall. If this budget is endorsed in June 2025, we plan to use this money to install new play equipment, including (but not limited to) a swing, a slide and climbing equipment.

This work is in line with our Open Space Asset Management Plan. We expect to start construction in early 2026 and to complete work by the end of June 2026.

Engagement closed on 25 May 2025, follow the project to receive updates.
