See the final design
We asked for your thoughts about a replacement playground at Mark Basham Reserve (formerly Butler Grove Reserve) in May 2025.
A lot has happened since then, we have collated all 44 survey responses to bring a final design incorporating your feedback that will assist children to develop balance, agility and co-ordination skills.
You can view these final concept images and details further below this page.
Construction is due to begin in October 2025 and take approximately 6 to 8 weeks.
In addition, you may have spotted that Butler Grove Reserve is now known as Mark Basham Reserve (as resolved at the Ordinary Council meeting 12th August) you can visit Councils' website Agendas and minutes | Port Adelaide Enfield for more details.

Background
The existing playground and fitness equipment at Butler Grove Reserve has reached the end of its usual asset lifespan and is ready for replacement. The current play equipment has a focus on children aged 0 to 5 years old, and we plan to maintain this focus for the replacement playground.
A budget has been allocated in the draft 2025–26 Annual Business Plan to upgrade the playground, fitness equipment and rubber softfall. If this budget is endorsed in June 2025, we plan to use this money to install new play and fitness equipment, including (but not limited to) a swing, a slide and low-level climbing equipment.
This work is in line with the decision that was made by Council at the 11 February Ordinary Council Meeting, to replace the existing playground and fitness equipment at Butler Grove Reserve. We expect to start construction in early 2026 and to complete work by the end of June 2026.
Engagement closed on 25 May 2025, follow the project to receive updates.
