About the proposal

Background

We’ve been investigating changing part of Miles Street in Rosewater, from John Street to Newcastle Street, to a one-way road because:

  • Due to the road’s width, there’s a high level of conflict during busy periods between traffic driving in opposing travel directions along the street
  • Parking options are limited

What are the details of this proposal?

We’re proposing to restrict the flow of travel to an eastbound direction from John Street to Newcastle Street. Please see overleaf for a map of the designated area, as well as for some answers to frequently asked questions about the proposal.

The benefits to what we’re proposing are:

  • Parking on one side of the road will make the road safer during peak demand hours
  • Students from Mt Carmel College can be dropped off safely onto the footpath from the passenger side of the vehicle
  • A one-way treatment will reduce the congestion, making traffic flow more predictable

At the end of the consultation period, we’ll consider all the feedback that we’ve received and make a decision about the proposal.

Review the information on this page then complete the survey, closes Monday 28 April 2025.
