We are undertaking a project to upgrade areas of Prospect Road in Kilburn and Blair Athol (between Way Street and Kintore Avenue).
We have received some information from the initial consultation with the community and have developed some draft concept designs for the project.
These draft concept designs will:
- improve safety for vehicles and people using the street
- increase trees and landscaping
- improve lighting
- create opportunities for public art
- create outdoor dining and other seating areas.
The Draft Concept Designs include seven projects, including:

| 1: Gladstone Avenue | Larger community space which could be closed temporarily for small events. |
| 2: Le Hunte Street | Traffic management, Le Hunte Street was identified as the most unsafe intersection in the project area. |
| 3: Kintore Avenue, Jersey Avenue and Hopetoun Avenue | Landscaping, improved pedestrian movement and opportunity for outdoor dining. |
| 4: Clifton Street | Landscaping, improved pedestrian movement and opportunity for outdoor dining. |
| 5: IGA and Audrey Street | Safer pedestrian movement and increased tree planting. |
| 6: Central median on Prospect Road | Increased tree planting in the centre of Prospect Road. Will not impact on traffic movement. |
| 7: Entry Statement / Kerb Build Out | Opportunity to create landscape entry statements for the area. |
We are proposing to reduce the speed limit along Prospect Road between Way Street and Kintore Avenue to 40 kilometers per hour. This will significantly improve vehicle and pedestrian safety in this area.
We are proposing to include public art into the streetscape upgrade which may include painted murals on blanks walls, patterns on the road, and banners which change over the year.
