What's happening
The existing playground at Queensborough Reserve had reached the end of its usual asset lifespan and was ready for replacement. The play equipment had a focus on children aged 2 to 5 years old, and we have continued this focus for the replacement playground.
A budget of $260,000 was allocated in the 2024–25 Annual Business Plan to upgrade the playground and rubber softfall. We have used this money to install new play equipment, including (but not limited to) a swing, a slide and climbing equipment.
Thank you for sharing your feedback during April and May 2024, about the play equipment you would like to have at this reserve. The new playground will shortly be reopened to our community in mid to late December 2024.
