What's happening

We are seeking feedback from local residents, on the proposed new location for the existing public toilet building at Rushworth Reserve, Blair Athol.

In 2020, we adopted our Public Toilet Plan to ensure that clean, safe, accessible toilets are available for people to use in the most popular and public places across our city. This includes Rushworth Reserve and the adjoining Dover Street Reserve, which are popular spaces with various sporting players as well as families and local residents enjoying the playground, BBQ amenities, basketball court and open space.

The existing public toilet facility at Rushworth Reserve is a well-used but aging facility. In line with our Public Toilet Plan objective to provide accessible, safe, convenient and hygienic toilets, we have prioritised this toilet for replacement this financial year and have allocated a budget for construction of the new facility in our 2024/25 Annual Business Plan.

The location we are proposing shown below in blue, will benefit users and the general community in the following ways:

  • It improves toilet access for everyone who uses the two reserves
  • It is closer to the playground and other amenities within the reserves (BBQ, picnic area, basketball half court)
  • It is located in a highly visible area that many people use

Share your feedback by completing the feedback form below or contact us to request a hardcopy feedback form be sent to you.

Engagement is open until Sunday 1 December 2024.
