State Disability Access and Inclusion Plan Update

13 February 2025

The State Disability Inclusion Plan 2019-2023 has now formally concluded and the Department of Human Services has outlined next steps in development of the new State Access and Inclusion Plan and what they mean for South Australian councils.

All state authorities including local councils will continue to operate under this framework, and their associated Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIP), until the new State Plan is released.

The focus areas of the next State Plan, which is being drafted by the Department for Human Services, will be made available to councils soon. Once the final copy is published, councils will have six months to finalise their individual DAIP.

The Draft of the new State Plan is expected to be released in March 2025 and the final version is due in June 2025.

For the City of PAE, this will be our six DAIP created to support access and inclusion for all in our community.
