What's happening - Thomas Turner Reserve

We have been working on the detailed design of a new community recreation space at the south western corner of Thomas Turner Reserve. This seeks to achieve the vision of the Thomas Turner Reserve Masterplan in creating a high quality park which caters to the needs of local residents, visitors and sporting stakeholders while respecting the existing landscape.

The detailed design of the space builds upon what we heard in the Masterplan consultation phase and further develops the spatial layout of future recreation assets previously endorsed by Council including a skate park, pump track and destination playspace.

Next Steps

Construction of a central Community Green and reserve entrance will commence in February and March 2026 to rehabilitate the former site of the Valley View Driving Range. This will include irrigated lawn, trees and garden beds, a new vehicular entrance, a pedestrian path network and picnic facilities. This is anticipated to be completed by July 2026.

Detailed design will continue for the skatepark, pump track, youth precinct, destination playspace and supporting infrastructure to be ready for future funding opportunities.
