What's happening
The existing playground at Veteran Memorial Reserve has reached the end of its usual asset lifespan and is ready for replacement. The current play equipment has a focus on children aged 3 to 12 years old, and we plan to maintain this focus for the replacement playground.
We have allocated a budget of $250,000 in the 2024–25 Annual Business Plan to upgrade the playground and rubber softfall. We plan to use this money to install new play equipment, including (but not limited to) a swing, a slide and climbing equipment.
Please view the design below for the new playground, that has been selected based on feedback we received during community engagement. Construction of the playground is scheduled to begin in late October 2024 and be completed by mid-December 2024.
