In this video, we'll explain why the City of PAE creates an annual business plan and budget every year and why it's important for you to provide your feedback.
Our Annual Business Plan and Budget outlines our objectives, priorities, and proposed expenditure for the upcoming financial year while allowing us to achieve the long-term goals set out in our city vision.
This plan is developed through a rigorous process including consultation with the community staff and elected members to ensure that it's aligned with the community's priorities. It ensures that we allocate resources effectively to provide essential services to the community such as waste management, infrastructure, maintenance, and other services to keep the city running smoothly. Plus, community programs, storm water management, major construction, and lots more. even down to paying the power bills for street lights and water for parks and reserves.
Every dollar of your rates lets us undertake a huge number of activities that helps keep the community vibrant, safe, and healthy and supports growth and development of the entire city. We aim to spend time, money, and resources as effectively as possible. The annual business plan and budget provides a transparent and accountable approach to how we will spend money. If you want to see more of a breakdown, we have a rates calculator on our website that shows where every dollar of your rates are spent. The annual business plan and budget is reviewed regularly to ensure that it remains aligned with the council's strategic objectives and our community's priorities. Community consultation is a big part of creating our annual business plan and budget. So, it's important for you to join the conversation.
Please take a moment to tell us what matters most to you and what you would like to see us deliver to help create a vibrant, well-connected and healthy City of PAE for everyone.
Every year we develop a new Annual Business Plan and update our Long-Term Financial Plan. These plans are developed taking into account our City Vision, Four Year Business Plan and engagement conversations with community from across the year.
We seek to achieve a balance between financial sustainability and meeting the diverse needs of community. The draft Annual Business Plan is our commitment to delivering on our strategic priorities and delivering important services and infrastructure. The draft Long-Term Financial Plan is our roadmap for remaining financially sustainable.
Now is your opportunity to review these plans and share your thoughts.
