Community survey

When asked what they thought about specific features of the draft Master Plan, respondents answered:

Community pop-ups

A summary of the discussions from these sessions included:

  • Acknowledgement that Council had listened to the early engagement feedback
  • Support for the plans for new community facilities
  • Support for the proposed community gardens
  • Requests for further consideration around the orientation of the baseball diamond
  • Requests for further consideration into the location of the playground and/or inclusion of another play area
  • Queries in regard to a dog park included at EP Nazer
  • Queries relating to the path network and BBQ location, if all paths were necessary
  • Concerns relating to the speed of cars in the area, particularly Swan Terrace and John Hart laneway
  • Requests for more shelter for netball spectators to be considered, if removing existing clubrooms

Workshop with sporting clubs

A summary of the discussions and feedback from this Workshop included:

  • Baseball diamonds essential for competition / carnivals
  • Qualified support for the revised orientation of the baseball diamonds
  • Requests for playground closer to the Baseball facilities
  • Support for the larger and improved batting sheds and cricket nets
  • Continuity of the sports during construction needs further consideration
  • Pigeon Club relocation to be considered further
  • Storage facilities for all clubs is important
  • Baseball – like the hill for viewing / kids running around
  • Additional shelters for football and netball are needed

Next steps

As a result of all of the feedback received, both online and from the Stakeholder Workshop
and onsite meetings, the draft Master Plan has been reviewed and updated.


Key changes to the draft Master Plan include:

  • Two full size baseball diamonds, to allow for national competitions to be held at EP Nazer Reserve
  • Multi-use ovals to accommodate, baseball, cricket and soccer
  • Inclusion of additional playground near Baseball club and school
  • New configuration to Community Hub and Baseball clubrooms
  • Change in configuration to netball clubrooms to suit club requirements
  • Path network upgrades and removal of paths considered unnecessary
  • Additional shelter for spectators, at netball courts
  • Traffic calming to laneway at John Hart
Further consultation with the sporting clubs, Le Fevre High School, the pigeon club, and local
residents may be required to realise the full potential of this site as part of the next stage of
the project.
