The City of PAE has heard community commentary regarding what is happening at Largs Bay Public Toilet Replacement construction site, so would like to take a moment to update you and clarify any misinformation and rumours.

In recent days, the builder and the Council’s project team had concerns over the quality of the concrete pour for the footings. After undertaking core samples of the cured concrete, it was identified that the integrity of the concrete slab was compromised.

The project team is working closely with the builder and all contractors. In the interests of ensuring the quality of the finished building, it was determined the best course of action to remediate this was to demolish the slab in its entirety and start again.

This work is being rectified by the contractor at no cost to the Council. Unfortunately, this rectification work will delay the project by four weeks.
