What's happening

Thank you to everyone who entered our photo competition by taking a photograph of their family anywhere within the City of PAE. Whether it was a favourite park, a bustling street, or a hidden gem, thank you for sharing your unique snapshot to help showcase and celebrate the beauty of our city and community.

Your photo will become a cherished part of our city's visual history as we work to showcase a city made by its people, and may be selected to feature at our Make History Photography Exhibition at the Port Adelaide Library which will be open throughout the month of August 2024.

Photos could focus on different themes of local life in the City of PAE, including

Work - at work or a business
Sport - at events or a sporting arena
Community - at a community group, church, library or anywhere else
Transport - using or featuring trains, buses, planes, bicycles, boats or any other means of transport
Leisure - participating in an activity or cultural event
Places - at your special place

Step 1

Take a photograph of your family in a setting that is within the district of the City of PAE.

Photos may focus on different themes of local life, including; work, sport, leisure, services, transport and places.
Step 2

Tell us as much as you can about the photograph.

Fill out the entry form, remembering to include details of who is in the photograph, where and when it was taken, and any interesting or funny stories related to it. The more information, the better.

The winners will be announced at the commencement of Family History Month 2024.

These are the terms and conditions for the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Make History Photography Competition (“the Competition”)
Photographic entries must have been taken within the council district of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
The entrant must be the photographer, or have permission from the photographer, to enter the photograph into the competition. All images submitted must contain a description or a story, including (where known) the location, the people in the photograph, the photographer’s name and date the photo was taken.
Entries must be original photographs.
A copy of the photograph entered in the competition will be retained in the City of PAE Libraries Local History Collection.
Physical entries, including the fully completed and signed application form, must reach the Port Adelaide Library before COB Friday 26th July 2024. Online entries must be submitted via email (local.history@cityofpae.sa.gov.au) or Participate PAE by Sunday 28 July 2024.
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield will retain the right to use the photograph and supporting information for the purpose of researching and promoting the City of PAE Local History and may be used in marketing materials, displays and publications.
One entry per person. Entrants must be aged 18 years or over to enter or have parent/guardian permission to enter.
The Competition and promotional period runs between Monday 10 June 2024 to Sunday 28 July 2024.
The prize pool for the Competition compromises of five (5) book vouchers valued at $50 each.
Prize is not redeemable for cash.
The entries will be collated with five (5) winners chosen at random from qualifying entries.
The winners will be selected at the Port Adelaide Library on Wednesday 31 July 2024.
The winners will be notified within 14 days of the closing date via email.
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield, as promoter of the Competition, reserves the right to verify the validity of eligible entrants (including an eligible entrant’s identity, address and age i.e. driver’s licence, proof of age card etc) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
If a prize recipient has not responded to correspondence from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield by midnight Friday 16 August 2024, or is unable to claim the prize, then another winner will be selected at random from the remaining pool of eligible entrants.
The prize must be collected from Port Adelaide Library, 2-4 Church St, Port Adelaide SA 5015, unless advised of an alternative arrangement, otherwise the City of Port Adelaide Enfield reserves the right to pass the prize onto other eligible entrants.
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield staff and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the Competition.
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council makes no representation expressly or implied, as to the quality, reliability or suitability of the prize and expressly disclaims any liability. Any problems associated with the prize should be brought to the attention of the respective supplier of the service.
Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.
Completion of the Entry Form and opting into the Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
