Your contributions to the Participate PAE – Connecting and Involving you framework have been heard, changes made and endorsed by Council in July 2022.
Our guiding principles
In 2021, we asked you what we can do to continue to improve how we connect with and involve you.
You provided us with some great feedback (see the engagement summary) which we used to develop our guiding principles for our draft communications and engagement framework, Participate PAE – Connecting and Involving You.
The principles are:
Community engagement on the draft Framework
During May and June 2022, we shared our draft Framework with you and gave you the opportunity to tell us what you thought. We asked for your feedback on the guiding principles and overall framework.
We visited libraries, community facilties, schools, held pop-ups at key community locations, including:
- Port Adelaide Plaza
- Community Centres
- Libraries
- Largs Train Station
- Community events
We also held a Student's Idea Pitch where primary school students shared their ideas for PAE!

Finalising the Participate PAE framework
In response to your feedback we made some final changes to the Communications and Engagement Framework to clarify that we will
- Implement a variety of communications approaches across print, digital and face to face
- Identify and reduce barriers to participation for our diverse communities
- Create connections to support participation across the many and diverse groups within our community
Council endorsed framework on 12 July 2022. Implementation has commenced.

Closing the loop, we will make efforts to 'close-the-loop' with project contributors and followers. We may occasionally send information to acknowledge a contribution, provide key updates on engagement and project processes and outcomes.
