What's happening

We have recently purchased four residential allotments on Carroll Ave, Kilburn from the South Australian Housing Authority (SAHA). By purchasing these allotments, we will be able to upgrade and redevelop the adjoining Jack Watkins Reserve, and create a new reserve entrance from Carroll Ave. As a part of this land transaction, SAHA have indicated to us that they are seeking to acquire Sunnybrae Reserve, Kilburn to align with their Affordable Housing Provisions.

At the September 2023 Ordinary Council Meeting, a Report titled ‘Revocation of Community Land Classification – Sunnybrae Reserve, Kilburn’ was presented and Council endorsed the Administration entering into Community Consultation, seeking feedback on the proposal to remove the ‘Community Land Classification’ from the portions of land identified as Sunnybrae Reserve, Kilburn.

Under Section 193 of the Local Government Act 1999, all local government land that is owned by Council or under Council's care and control (excluding roads) is classified as Community Land.

We are proposing to remove the Community Land classification over these portions of land and potentially dispose of the land to the SAHA to align with their Affordable Housing Provisions for the Kilburn Area.

The closing date for all feedback was 5pm on Wednesday 14 February 2024.
