The proposal

We proposed to construct a raised platform intersection at Pauls Drive and College Avenue.

The raised platform intersection will:

  • Calm traffic movements on Pauls Drive, as motorists will need to slow down to travel over the raised platform.
  • Alert drivers as they exit the main road that they are crossing a threshold into a local road network, where the driving environment is different from the one they have just left.

You can view the plan for the proposed raised platform intersection by following the link below.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the proposal. Engagement closed on Tuesday 21 November 2023.

What we asked

We asked residents how they normally travel along Pauls Dr, if they thought speed was currently an issue on Pauls Dr and what they thought about the proposal to construct a raised platform intersection at Pauls Dr and College Ave.

How we asked

What we heard

How do you travel along Pauls Dr?

Is speeding an issue on Pauls Dr?

What do you think about the proposal to introduce a raised platform intersection?

Comments:

  • Support for raised platform intersection
  • Suggestion for a second raised platform on the corner of Vale Avenue and Pauls Drive
  • Ensure raised platform aligns with the gutter for safety of cyclists and pedestrians

Next steps

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 12 December 2023, Council received and noted the Report titled "Gepps Cross, Northfield (North), Walkley Heights & Valley View – Local Area Traffic Management Scheme – Community Feedback" and endorsed progression with the Pauls Drive/College Avenue, Valley View - Raised Intersection Platform.

We will communicate the upcoming works and expected timelines with affected residents in 2024.
