What's happening

The Dogs on Beaches Community Working Group have worked extensively together to proposed a potential new option for rules for dogs on North Haven Beach.

You can view the the current rules for dogs on North Haven Beach (Option 1) below, as well as the option proposed by the working group (Option 2).

North Haven Beach Option 1 - Daylight Savings Rules (current rules)

This option is for the entire beach from North Haven marina to Outer Harbour breakwater. This option is the same as current rules.

During daylight savings (October to March), dogs must be on-leash between 10am to 8pm.

Outside of daylight savings (April to September), dogs are allowed off-leash under effective control at all times.

North Haven Beach Option 2 - North on-leash area

This option is for the beach from North Haven marina to Outer Harbour breakwater, which is split into two sections.

From the northern end of North Haven Beach at the Outer Harbour breakwater, to the beach entrance at the southern corner of the Australia Two Ave carpark, Dogs must be on-leash at all times, all year round. This area is shown in red.

South of this, for the reminder of North Haven Beach to the marina, current daylight savings rules apply where dogs must be on-leash between 10am to 8pm. This area is shown in yellow.
