Packed with industry, culture, heritage and creativity
At the heart of Port Adelaide is the river, surrounded by land known to the Kaurna people as Yartapuulti and home to a wild dolphin sanctuary. The area, the first of only 17 sites in South Australia to be named a State Heritage area, is also rich in built history and colonial heritage exemplified by its streetscapes, three museums of national significance and the emerging Yitpi Yartapuultiku Aboriginal Cultural Place – the Soul of Port Adelaide.
The Port has long been an industrial hub and an incubator for creativity – an area where things are truly people made.
